Evaporate EP | 11.30.10
In the absence of Skyscraper Frontier on the club scene we were able to complete another studio EP with long time producer/co-writer Cliff Magreta. It took a few more months, after completing ‘Cloaking the Soul’, to continue to write the material. Though on this go around Cliff had brought to the table some amazing vocals for two of the four songs.
‘Evaporate’ weaves layers of soothing sonics and easy melodies together while still incorporating tempos that are upbeat and fluid. Attempting to scale back the older progressive structures of ‘Moonlit Behavior’ this time through ‘Evaporate’ is straight to the point in song form and delivers more use of simple chords churned within glossy rhythms.
With Skyscraper Frontier on hiatus and the new EP ‘Evaporate’, closing yet another door in the hallway of Skyscraper Frontier, the future will always remain optimistic for remaining members Rus Martin and Erik Andrews. But during the interim, however long it may be, the two have carried on to create a new project. A project that brings them both back to their roots of hardcore punk. They plan on releasing an EP with five songs next year under the band name ‘Beware The Idols’.
